Crash to reality...

So BASICALLY, this used to be my mantra - 

Seriously, up to about a month ago, or a week ago - this woman lived in my head. 

I know. She looks fierce right? - oh so persuasive. 

I'm not gonna bore you, but the story began four years ago back when I was 18, when I hopped away to university. Now don't get me wrong, university was great and it's a given that when you come out of university you're gonna be in a little debt i.e. tuition, BUT I came out with that, and a couple few thousand pounds worse off thanks to my ex-besties Topshop, Newlook, River Island, Primark, Zara, Karen Millen, Urban Outfitters (you get the point?) Well yeah, I got into debt bigtime and vowed I'd never go back. 

That little mess got cleared up, now four years down the line I appear to be in the same situation. I'm a shopaholic (Yes. I said it. I am a shopaholic), having said this I am in no way a phsyco - so I don't blame that voice inside my head -still, let's just say I've kicked her ass to the curb.

I owe x amount, and have nothing to show for it. I've had enough of lying to myself, and everyone else around me. I know it sounds cliche but I don't know why I shopped so much, I just did it - and it's always been something I'm good at. 

Either way those days are gone. 

So why 'Budget Barbie'? Barbie's have always been glamorous, girly and fun plus most of them are renowned for their fabulous wardrobes. Barbie's can be anything that they want to be, and that's what I want. The only thing is, I'm gonna do it on a budget. 

The aim of the game is to prove to myself that I can be all of those things, but do it whilst being financially responsible.  So here goes. Being a shopaholic is not as fun as it seems, and I want to start a new life that's fun, fabulous and debt free.
